Sources of continuous accumulation:

  • Survival: preparing for a risk that has passed, an imagined fear.

  • Substitution: to feel self-worth, love.

  • Status: the illusion of a competition, comparison.

  • Stability: to avoid uncomfortable change, repeat conditioned behaviors.
